Backstage

This is doubtless the less photographed side of the Taj Mahal. Its four façades are identical so it means it looks the same from its four sides. The enclosure has three gates (East, West and South gates) which are the main entries for tourists. The North side is almost touched by the Yamuna River (by the way, it is like a dump) therefore it hasn’t any access to enter in. But you can reach this side surrounding the wall and walking on some narrow paths across an astonishing shanty town where people live in shacks.

The hundreds of visitors who daily pay the exaggerate amount of 750 rupees never can enjoy neither this beautiful panorama of the North side nor the sunset in the Yamuna River. It’s worth it, sometimes, to search new views from where to enjoy life. And usually it’s for free!
