Holy rats

In a small town of Rajasthan called Deshnok there is one of the most incredible temples you can see in India. It’s the Karni Mata Temple or Temple of rats. When you cross the main entrance you can see the fascinating and awful spectacle of thousands of rats sleeping, eating or walking everywhere. But for the Hindu people it’s a very important place because for them they are holy animals. They visit the Temple and feed the rats with fresh milk and sugar. They also bring their children and try to touch them. Even many people bring food and do a picnic there. If a rat walks on their food or feet (barefoot of course) is a lucky sign. It means they have the blessing of the rat. Fortunately, this time I didn’t get any blessing. Anyway maybe it’s still working the former one.
