Jodhpur is a beautiful city in Rajasthan. The old part of the city is a labyrinth of sloping and narrow streets with an impressive castle in the top. They say it’s the biggest and the most beautiful castle in the region. Most of the houses of the old town are blue. It meant they were occupied by a Brahman family. Later many other houses were also painted on blue maybe to frighten off the mosquitoes, maybe to not make differences with Brahman families or maybe just because it’s a beautiful colour. Nowadays Jodhpur is known as the blue city in Rajasthan.
My nicest moment today was walking around the city and to discover the open market in the evening. What a lively, colourful and racket place! You could find there all kind of fruits and vegetables, animals, species and cows walking among them. And the colourful saris and turbans were shining on the bright blue of the city.
