Handmade Works (I)
In the Western cities, when they repair a street and put the asphalt on it they do it with very big machines that work very quickly. Those huge machines can repair and smooth the streets easily, with a perfect result. But here, in India, nothing is so easy. Machines are not available and most of the things are handmade, even the repairing of the streets. First of all, the workers heat up the tar in the fire. After it they carry it in trolleys and through it on the ground. Then, while the tar is still hot they spread it with some sticks and leave it as smooth as possible. I think they should write a note that says “handmade street”. Then we’d realize of the difficulty of working without machines and we could value more the big effort they do.
