Saint cut up

The Basilica of Bom Jesus in Old Goa is famous because contains the tomb and mortal remains of Saint Francis Xavier. This Spanish Saint, former pupil of Saint Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of Jesuits, was given the task of spreading Christianity among the people of the East in 1541. Saint Francis Xavier died in China and his companions decided to return the remains to Goa. Two months later, the body was in perfect conditions. The following year, the Church declared that it was a miracle. Then, the corpse had been cut up and hundreds of holy relics had been scattered through the Christian world. Nowadays, the remains are kept in the silver casket of the photograph.

I think about the journey that did the Saint in the XVI century, from Portugal to India, and then to Japan and China. I consider that the real miracle is the trip itself! By the way, note that it isn´t allowed to park in front of the Saint, inside the church, nor left side neither right side.
