New Year’s Eve

We were lucky to meet four Spanish travellers in Amritsar. They were two twin sisters who are travelling around the world for three years and a couple of Catalan guys. They had just landed in India some days ago and they were still surprised by everything. The six of us became a curious and bizarre team. We decided to spend the New Year’s Eve all together, cooking some typical Spanish food and inviting our host, his family and friends to join us. We prepared a big paella and some salads. Our host gave us the surprise of bringing a dancing group that sang and danced some Indian music. The meal was quite good and the party was lively, despite the mist that covered the city like every night. The workers looked at us hidden behind the columns. Although we offered them to join us they didn’t dare to sit down in the same table where their boss was sitting. Some social barriers in India are very difficult to break down. Happy New Year to whom are reading this text!
