Palace on wheels

India is, above all, a country of contrasts. Look at this train called “Palace on wheels”. It’s not the first class of a normal one but it’s a real five stars hotel on wheels. It works like a cruise. The train travels through different Indian states or cities and stops in the main cities just to have a look to the must see places. Obviously I didn’t travel in, not only because it’s not my trip style but because the cost of a journey surpass by far my reduced budget. But I could have a look from the outside of one of these fancy trains. In the carriages, a part of the rooms and dinning-rooms, there are so fancy and bizarre services such as beauty parlour, gymnasium, hairdresser, dance hall, TV room and spa. Incredible, isn’t it? Most of the windows have dark glasses. It’s supposed that is to keep the intimacy and the privacy of the passengers but I think it´s also because the flamboyant and capricious travellers could be shocked seeing the thousands of slums that spreads along the line.
