Pigs

Now it is the time for killing the pigs in the Spanish towns where people still kill them in the handmade way. The slaughter of the pigs is a bloody feast half interesting and half disgusting where relatives, neighbours and acquitainces join to watch the deadly stab. Everyone helps in the work of preparing the meat.

In India there are also many pigs but neither slaughters nor cured meat. The pigs you can see here are black and hairy, and they work as dustmen. We could say pigs are walking Indian dustbins. They walk around the streets, specially in the outskirts, and they eat as much garbidge as they can. They have the same function that rats have in some European cities. Obviouslly, Indians neither kill nor eat them. If we explained to an Indian that we eat and we like cured pork meat, he'll put a nasty expresion. But which would be our reaction if someone invites us to eat, for example, rat sausages?
